A Simple Meditation Focus from Thich Nhat Hanh
Working with our breathing is a common meditation technique to help us focus and calm the busy chatter of our mind. Thich Nhat Hanh was a highly respected Vietnamese Buddhist monk and teacher who authored many books on meditation, including Present Moment Wonderful Moment, from which the following mindfulness verse is excerpted.
You can say the verse once or twice as a way of beginning your meditation, or you can repeat the verse several times, coordinating your breathing with the words, as a short and complete meditation in itself.
Breathing in, I calm my body.
Breathing out, I smile.
Dwelling in the present moment,
I know this is a wonderful moment!
